Naughty Paris is back! Writer and guide extraordinaire, Heather Stimmler-Hall of the popular site Secrets of Paris, is back with a new version of her fabulous Naughty Paris Guide. In 2008 she published the first of the Naughty series, Naughty Paris: A Lady’s Guide to the Sexy City, which according to her site is “the first guidebook that presents the city’s erotic underside in a sophisticated yet accessible tone that appeals to both the innocently intrigued and daring divas alike.” It’s that and more. Artistically designed with beautiful photographs by Kirsten Loop, Naughty Paris reveals how to be your utmost sexy self in Paris thanks to seductive lingerie boutiques, romantique restaurants and more risqué venues.
After the great success of the first edition, Heather has been working hard on an updated version of the guide… and now is the best time to reserve your copy. Heather has launched a Kickstarter to help with the publishing costs and get the books here (or to wherever you are). Not only can you have your own advance copy (in print or PDF), you can pledge more to obtain amazing special rewards including signed copies, custom screen wallpapers, photo sessions, special tours and more. I’m so proud of Heather, from experience, I know how hard it is to self publish and her books are truly unique. Find out more about the Kickstarter here… and read on for some fun anecdotes on my small involvement… plus other news! La Tigresse gets naughty thanks to H-S-H: I distinctly remember the first time I met Heather. At the time (many, many moons ago) I was organizing language exchange get-togethers for the Canadian Club (described in the beginning of my book). Heather, hailing from Arizona, was more than welcome in our loose-borders group. We had a fun chat at the bar sparking a great friendship — little did I know what kinds of naughtiness it would also ignite!
Back when Heather was preparing the first book, I helped out with her “research” by attending on her behalf an S&M themed night at a large Paris club. Not my usual Saturday night, but Pussycat was game, so on we shimmied our vinyl skirts and corsets (purchased for the occasion). It was a bizarre though intriguing night (no, we didn’t have to participate in anything), we even ran into someone we knew there, yikes! At least he wasn’t in bottomless chaps like some of the other attendees. We tried to avoid him the rest of the night, not all that difficult as he was hanging out in the “foot fetish” section. All for the sake of research! That with the proof-reading of a few chapters earned me an invite to pre-launch thank-you apéro where I met a sexy Frenchie, who invited me out for drinks the following week… and some private piano lessons (look out for JTMN book two!).
My assistance services were called on again while working on the photos for this new Naughty Paris. I didn’t mind sitting around in O-Chateau wine bar on a “Girls’ Night” photoshoot, always nice to have a glass of wine among lovely filles. My next mission was a tad different. A few days later she called in a calmish panic, her model for the day was sick, could I fill in? I was actually at home and the venue was nearby, pourqoui pas? This time no vinyl… but I did have to prance around an erotic spa in a sarong… It would have been fine, in principle, only there was this creepy guy (with his girlfriend) eyeing me up, I’m quite sure hoping for a threesome in one of the whirlpools. He even followed us to the change rooms, luckily I was protected by the photo team! Don’t worry readers, if you were to visit this un-named spa, you might not run into Mr Creepo, but you also might want to go accompanied.
Summer Love Picnic – Friday June 20, 2014, 7 pm – ….
The best time to be Je T’aiming in Paris is most definitely summer. Saturday June 21st might be the official first day of summer… but it technically starts at midnight of Friday the 2oth! To get the season off on the right foot, I’ll be hosting a picnic (weather permitting) open to anyone who wants to bask in summer love. This isn’t a singles event, it’s a love event and you are all welcome, so spread the word! I’ll be providing some complimentary wine and some snacks, but it would be great if attendees could bring along some to add to these. If you haven’t picked up your copy of Je T’Aime, Me Neither yet, I’ll have some copies at a special summer discount, and other surprises!
Exact Place TBA but probably on Les Berges or Quai de Tournelle. Got a suggestion/request for the place? Put it in comments below!
I’ll be posting news and creating a Facebook event!
In honor of the festive time of year, and another special book anniversary, I’ve given my website a seasonal facelift, mostly thanks to the wonderful new photos taken by the talented photographer Laura Jane. Based in South Africa, Laura was passing through Paris, and was keen to do some shooting while in town. Lucky me! Here is a little sneak preview she gave me, more will appear here and there on the site in the next little while.
