I’ve been trying to think of the best present I could give readers for Valentine’s Day. Cards aren’t very original (however, you should all print out a tessera magica, they are proving to be amazingly magic), chocolates too logistically complicated, flowers equally impractical. Then I got to thinking about what could also be useful for me, dragging around a battered heart. It needs some TLC as probably do a certain percentage of yours. Hearts can be repaired like anything else, and what hasn’t killed it, can obviously make it stronger… right?
The six years of Je T’Aime, Me Neither and its future sequel don’t really count, but the stories from the current blog and recent other upsets have really given my heart a beating. It’s like it was in one of those cans and clinking along on the ground behind a “just married car,” definitely not heading into the sunset, and bitterly satirical. We each have our addictions, and I’d grow particularly hooked on men who couldn’t care less about me: the Mexican, Zaven, Mr Mystery, the Film Guy. I could turn them around, keep their attention and love, couldn’t I? While I’m normally quite adept challenges, this series was one I would sadly not succeed at. I’ve acknowledged that I really have to not fall into the same trap/habit again, however, that doesn’t erase the pain, regret and mostly a sense of stupidity.
So instead of being depressed on Valentine’s Day (how could I with our great event tonight), I’ve created a special pick me up for everyone needed some consolation from their romantic woes. Here are the instructions:
- Find your woe
- click on the heart underneath it…
- it will lead to a magic piece of advice, such as the below:
- Guaranteed to help change your negative thoughts… into at least a smile! Bookmark the post, it could come in handy whenever you’re feeling down!
Valentine full hearted Valentine’s Day everyone!!
“I thought s/he was my soulmate…” Are you sure…? Click on the heart:
“But my ex was virtually perfect. Handsome, intelligent, funny…” Stop right there and click 1 of these:
“No matter how I tried, s/he wouldn’t come around to my line of thinking.” That’s because…
<
“I’m sure s/he was lying/cheating to me!” Quick calm down and click here:

Oh, ho, definitely bookmarked.
Our hearts may be bruised and battered, and we may feel stupid and like we should know better, but as long as we don’t close our hearts off, there’s always hope.
And we all know cynics are just brokenhearted romantics. So hopefully the balance stays more on the side of the romantic.
Happy Valentime’s Day, my dear! I hope it’s a joy!

Dearest Shani! I’m glad you liked the post! And I completely agree, we need to have hope and things fall into place when we least expect them! Love is out there, and when we need a boost, we can pick a heart 😉
