Your journey into the past begins as soon as you enter the gorgeous grounds which surround the hotel and are greeted by the hotel’s traditionally dressed guard. The airy foyer with its grand staircase helps evoke the feeling that you are a personal royal guest. This regal ambiance is echoed throughout the enchanting property.
Renowned Restaurant & Luxurious Facilities
The Metropole is home to one of Mysore’s top dining venues, Tiger Trail, known for its tagline ‘The Last Word in Indian Food’. Open to outside guests, this restaurant serves exceptional Mysore specialities as well as Indian favorites, all meticulously prepared by the executive chef and his team. These can be enjoyed in the lovely courtyard, magical both during the day and in the evening. At lunchtime there is a copious buffet and guests can also try some safe street food at the “chaat stand”. Before or after your meal you can get a drink at the hotel’s vintage bar, Skand’el, were the skilled barmen prepare both classic and inventive cocktails and other beverages. Guests of the hotel also have use of a gym looking onto the manicured gardens and a beautiful round swimming pool hidden by soaring palm trees.
Spacious, Regal Rooms & Suites
The hotel features 30 grand suites and luxurious rooms, divided between three categories and all with a heritage style decor with modern furnishings. The 14 Royal rooms are 210 Sq. Ft. (20 Sq. Mt.) and have views of courtyard and lawn. The 12 Heritage rooms are 550 Sq. Ft. (28 Sq. Mt), have an office area and have private balconies overlooking the swimming pool or lawn. The 4 Maharajah suites are a real treat. Spacious at 670 Sq. Ft. (62 Sq. Mt.). they have a sitting area, luxurious bathrooms and a private balcony with a pool view.
