La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels

With its discreetly seductive decor, this is the most attractive wine bar in Paris. Located opposite the revitalized Marché Saint Germain the alluring venue specializes in excellent natural wines and creative small plates. There are comfy sofas and cozy seating for two, especially in the dimly-lit backroom where you’ll find their fireplace.

Café Laurent – Hôtel d’Aubusson

One of the most elegant cozy atmospheres of the Left Bank is found in this Saint Germain hotel bar, perfect for a little break while perusing the nearby art galleries or stylish shops. Within a 17th-century hotel particulier, the lounge of the hotel is home to the plush and refined Café Laurent and its toasty stone fireplace. The café has been on the Parisian jazz scene since the 1940s and you can still take in some excellent live jazz here several nights a week, check their program here.

A few streets away, is the more modern lounge, with an equally cozy fireplace, in the lounge of the Hotel Montalembert. Open to outside guests the“Salon Gallimard is named after the famous French publishing house which is situated next door. It’s a great place for an afternoon coffee or refined apéro, perhaps after visiting the nearby Musée d’Orsay.

A little known gem, this attractive hotel is nestled on a quiet side street south of Saint Sulpice. Throughout the hotel are beautiful artistic touches, from sculptures to prints, a nod to the area’s artistic heritage. It has the coziest intimate lounge complete with a fireplace flanked by books. Le Hibou

Ideally located in the Carrefour de l’Odéon, this Left Bank café has a fantastic heated terrace, however, its true cozy ambiance is indoors. Leather sofas, vintage photos, the occasional quirky decorative item and dim lighting create a warm and intimate setting, plus there is a fireplace in the back. It’s suitable for anything from a late afternoon Irish coffee to a diner en tête-à-tête avec your chéri/e.

For an afternoon gouté in the centre of Paris, make your way to this enchanting tea salon not far from the Centre Pompidou. On the edge of the Marais, the courtyard of this lovely hotel is wonderfully decked out for the season. It features a festive decor and pergola nooks with nice loveseats draped with blankets, a great place to curl up after walking around in the Marais.

Both locations of Le Perchoir rooftop bars have a cozy atmosphere. Le Perchoir du Marais has a nicer view of Paris but this year, the Perchoir in the 11th has a fabulous alpine spirit with furry throws, plaid blankets and an abundance of pillowed seating. The most luxurious wintery cozy spot has to be at the annual pop-up bar in the courtyard of chic Royal Monceau Hotel. This year the hotel bordering the beautiful Parc Monceau has created an ephemeral icefield called the Royal Arctic. a stylish winter wonderland with futuristic igloos, ice sculptures and a sleek pairing menu featuring the prestigious cuvée MCIII by Moët & Chandon. This exquisite environment will exist until February 14th 2019… Valentine’s Day!
